The Los Angeles Press Club mourns the loss of our fellow journalists at the Capital Gazette in Maryland. Our sincere condolences go out to the families and friends of the victims. Journalists all over the world are risking their lives everyday to report unwelcome truths and shine a light on matters too often overlooked. It is unacceptable that a newsroom becomes a target. Any threat to a free press is a threat to democracy and the balance of power. #freepress=democracy
