My name is Jeremy Cuenca, and I’m a student journalist and social media manager for Collegian Wired at Los Angeles City College. I am currently studying communications and journalism, and I am near completion of receiving my AA-Ts in both disciplines, as well as obtaining photojournalism and photography certificates.
Exactly one year ago, I developed an immense passion for storytelling. After walking into the newsroom on campus, my life changed. Not only has the Collegian given me a voice, it also allows me to provide a voice to the voiceless. With current times of uncertainty, now more than ever is when it matters most.
Being from Los Angeles, I have both seen and experienced the hardships and silent struggles of our city, and bringing awareness to these issues is how I advocate for my community. With the power of my words and my ambition for visual storytelling through photojournalism, I don’t want to just tell another story, but to make history and an impact where it matters.
