Kelsey Brown is a multimedia journalist based in Long Beach, California. Brown recently graduated from Cal State Long Beach, where she received her bachelor’s in journalism with a minor in International studies. For three years, Brown has worked in editor positions for student-run publications, most recently as senior print editor for DIG magazine. She also is a freelance writer and photographer for outlets like Tagg magazine.
As a queer biracial person, uplifting marginalized voices is essential to her work. Because BIPOC and queer people have historically been misrepresented by the media, Brown hopes to help rebuild the bridge between communities and media. Recently Brown completed an editorial internship for the International Documentary Association, where she wrote for, as well as helped manage and edit, Documentary Magazine. Brown is enthusiastic for the next opportunity to expand and enrich her skills.
