‘Inside Gaza’ Screening and Q&A at LA Press Club

Please join us at the Los Angeles Press Club to watch the award-winning documentary “Inside Gaza,” which tells the harrowing story of local Agence France-Presse (AFP) journalists trapped inside the Gaza Strip at the start of the war. The film was produced in partnership with Reporters Without Borders (RSF).

Following the screening, director Hélène Lam Trong and protagonist Mai Yaghi will participate in a Q&A moderated by LAPC board member Adam Rose.

This free event is open to the public, but space is limited. Please make sure to RSVP!

WHEN: Friday, Nov. 6. Doors open at 6 p.m. for snacks and socializing. The 72-minute film starts at 7 p.m., followed by Q&A.

WHERE: Los Angeles Press Club, 2535 W Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026. Free parking in lot behind building (enter on Rampart Boulevard).

LOGLINE: Since October 7, 2023, the Gaza Strip has remained inaccessible to the international press, with independent access to the territory effectively impossible. Among the few professional witnesses able to document the conflict from within were Agence France-Presse’s staff reporters. As bombs fell around them, they continued to report, photograph, and film, bearing witness while confronting the same dangers, deprivation, and uncertainty as the people whose stories they were telling. Now forced into exile, they reflect on what they endured and on the near-impossible task of documenting a war that has become the deadliest ever recorded for journalists.
