Calista Pineda is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, receiving a B.A. in film, television, and media with a minor in journalism. During her time at CSULA, she discovered her passion for storytelling and developed her skills as a journalist while working as a videographer and reporter for the University Times.
She interned at the Boyle Heights Art Conservatory as part of the operations team for the community radio station KQBH. Her dedication and creativity led her to a role as the social media marketing person, expanding the online presence of the BHAC.
Calista aspires to tell stories through video, creating documentaries and reporting on community news, highlighting local issues and opportunities to give individuals a platform to share their stories.
