The Los Angeles Press Club’s Veritas Award honors movies based on real people and real events.
Journalism has played a starring role in several past winners, like 2015’s “Spotlight,” which LAPC members chose as the first recipient of the Veritas Award for its depiction of the Boston Globe’s investigation of child molesters in the Catholic Church.
Past winners also include “Hidden Figures,” “The Post,” “Green Book,” “Bombshell,” “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” “King Richard,” “She Said” and “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
Tell us which movie deserves to be the next to receive this honor! This year’s Veritas Award finalists are:
- “A Complete Unknown”
- “Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin.”
- “Maria”
- “Reagan”
- “Saturday Night”
- “September 5”
- “The Apprentice”
- “The Fire Inside”
- “The Order”
- “The Six Triple Eight”
This poll will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025. Only LAPC members are eligible to cast a vote. If you’re not a member or would like to renew your membership, click here.
