William Shatner will be honored with the Los Angeles Press Club’s Legend Award for Career Achievement and Contributions to Society.
The ceremony takes place at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards Gala on December 6 at the Biltmore Hotel, downtown Los Angeles.
“Shatner is one of the most recognizable people in the world,” said LA Press Club President Danny Bakewell, Jr. “He is in a towering category all his own.”
The Legend Award honors an individual within the entertainment industry for their venerable contributions to the industry and to society.
Shatner has enjoyed an extraordinary career spanning more than 70 years as an award-winning actor, director, producer, author, recording artist, and equestrian. One of Hollywood’s most recognizable figures, he is also a dedicated philanthropist whose creativity and curiosity continue to inspire audiences worldwide.
At 95 years young, Mr. Shatner continues to act, write, produce, record music, support charitable causes, and pursue his passion for equestrian sports.
The other honorees at the National A&E Journalism Awards are Brandi Carlile, Pam Grier and Madeleine Brand.
The NAEJ event is a fundraiser for this 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
The club established the National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards in 2008 to recognize and honor quality journalism in the fastest-growing segment of the modern media revolution. It remains the sole acknowledgement of its kind in the nation and has become a much anticipated celebration for those covering the Arts and Entertainment Industry and its artists.
