The Los Angeles Press Club joins our colleagues at the Asian American Journalists Association in condemning anti-Asian racism and in our advocacy for enhanced, accurate coverage of the issue from newsrooms across the country. We welcome working together on a multitude of activities to help enlighten the public and our membership on this essential matter as well as ensure fair representation of communities of color.
Like AAJA, we urge newsroom leaders to empower Asian American and Pacific Islander journalists in their daily work by highlighting the special skills they offer — along with supporting the behind-the-scenes work they take on — especially in media organizations where their voices are underrepresented.
