Why Americans are Working Longer – All Expenses Paid Media Training

Application Deadline: Monday, January 8, 2018

Training Dates: March 11-14, 2018, Washington, D.C.

The statistics tell the tale: Every day 10,000 Americans turn 65, and 20 percent of people in that age group are employed or looking for work – the highest rate since 1962.

Over four days, journalists will learn about older workers and the labor market; new models for retirement; the future of Social Security and retirement savings; the gig economy; workforce discrimination; and how workers’ health impacts all of that. They’ll also learn what other countries are doing that the U.S. isn’t.

The all-expenses-paid fellowship covers airfare, ground transportation, hotel costs and most meals. NPF offers this professional development opportunity for journalists to enhance skills, increase knowledge and recharge their reporting on one of today’s most critical issues. This program is for U.S.-based journalists only.
