Make a Donation to the LAPC Emergency Fund So We Can Help Journalists in Need

The Los Angeles Press Club is asking for funds to help journalists affected by the devastating fires ravaging Southern California. The damage members of our community face ranges from destroyed homes and working spaces to lost equipment, clothing and other supplies. All of the money that’s collected will go toward supporting journalists and photographers affected by the fires.

We want to provide resources to help this specific community to be able to get back to work quickly, as they grapple with the impact of the fires on their lives. This can include helping with rent costs for a shared workspace, like WeWork or similar, or help getting a new computer or camera.

There will also be a need for mental health care resources, both for victims of the fire and journalists covering the crisis.

All members of the journalism community who have been affected by the fire, whether or not they are members of the LA Press Club, will be eligible to apply for funds.

Journalists do not typically make a lot of money, and we expect freelancers to be the hardest hit, so any way you can help will be extremely valuable.
