Cathy Seipp Dies

A special friend of the Los Angeles Press Club, Cathy Seipp, lost her battle against lung cancer yesterday, at the age of 49. The outspoken, conservative columnist and media critic was also a loyal friend, to those she found worthy. As a columnist she had a special gift for exposing and attacking hypocrisy. As a person she had a special love for animals and her mission was to rescue as many as possible.

Together with Amy Alkon and Emmanuelle Richard, Cathy presented an array of interesting Book Parties for Los Angeles Press Club.

She will be missed by all of us, but, most of all by her daughter Maia.

The Los Angeles Press Club is dedicating this year’s Southern California Journalism Awards in memory of Cathy Seipp. Those of you who have a special moment or photo to share, please send them to diana@lapressclub.org, so they may be included in our tribute book.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Sinai Hollywood Hills, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles. Instead of flowers, Seipp had requested that people make donations to the Humane Society, www.hsus.org.
