LAPC to Dedicate 19th National A&E Journalism Awards to Dolly Parton’s Memory

Dolly Parton has been known the world over as an extraordinary singer-songwriter, businesswoman and actress, but in 2018, the LA Press Club had the honor of celebrating her philanthropy. Through her Imagination Library, the storied singer became an advocate of childhood literacy, gifting millions of books each month to children in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and the Republic of Ireland.

Parton received the Press Club’s Public Service Award for Contributions to Civic Life at the 60th Southern California Journalism Awards. Following Parton’s passing, we’re continuing to honor her legacy by dedicating the upcoming National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards to her memory.
