A year of progress and fine

wine at annual meeting

The L.A. Press Club’s annual membership meeting on Thursday evening, September 19, at the club offices in Hollywood, under the leadership of President Patt Morrison, will include a discussion of the significant progress the club has made in the past year, news on upcoming events,. a chance for board candidates to be heard — and for the first time, a complimentary wine tasting and seminar as well.

During the hour before the formal business portion of the meeting begins, from 6 to 7 p.m., the world renown Stimson Lane Vineyards & Estates will host a tasting of some of their fine wines from the state of Washington. Their brands include Columbia Crest, Northstar, Villa Mt. Eden and Domaine Ste. Michelle. In addition, Stimson Lane’s Jen Stone will be on hand to make a presentation.

This special benefit for L.A. Press Club members was arranged by Patterson’s California Beverage Journal, the leading wine & spirits trade publication. This 64-year old publication focuses on educating the restaurateur and retailer on trends in all segments of the alcohol beverage industry

Patterson’s will be represented by Meridith May, Senior Editor, who has an extensive background in wine and food, as well as L.A. radio. She has worked in marketing at KIIS-FM, KRLA-AM and KLSX FM. She also wrote a restaurant column for the Santa Barbara News Press. “Patterson’s is enthusiastic about helping expose members of the Southern California press to the wines of Washington State’s Columbia Valley,” said May. “This will be an opportunity to taste top of the line labels from the Stimson Lane portfolio.”

A light buffet supper will also be served prior t the start of the formal proceedings. In addition, there will be a networking period after the meeting which will include additional opportunities to sample the Stimson Lane line of fine wines.

Admission is complimentary for current members, and $20 per person for non-members. Although not mandatory for members, an RSVP would be appreciated to Lonnee Hamilton at (323) 469-8180 or Email info@lapressclub.org.
