Thomas L. Stokes Award for Best Energy Writing

Each year, the National Press Foundation presents the Thomas L. Stokes Award to a U.S.-based journalist for the best writing on the subject of energy. The Stokes Award was established in the spring of 1959 by friends and admirers of the late Thomas L. Stokes, the syndicated Washington columnist on national affairs. It is given annually for the best writing “in the independent spirit of Tom Stokes” on subjects of interest to him including energy, natural resources and the environment. “All the President’s Men” Celebrity Cast Reading Co-hosted by the Los Angeles Press Club

Guided Tour of La Raza Exhibit at the Autry Museum (Member Exclusive)

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Sunday for the private, guided tour of the Autry Museum’s La Raza photography exhibit. La Raza was an influential bilingual newspaper published in Los Angeles from 1967-1977. In it’s pages, journalists documented the defining moments, key players and symbols of Chicano activism. The exhibit includes approximately 300 photos selected by Autry curator Amy Scott and Luis Garza – one of the photographers whose work is included in the show.
