It was a magical evening in 2011.
The L.A. Press Club was just launching the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards as a Gala Event.
Hugh Hefner was our first honoree, as a Champion of Free Speech. His friends and family joined him as he was roasted by Dick Gregory, who passed away a month ago. As he sat down for an interview with Press Club President Robert Kovacik tears showed in his eyes.
“I did not expect this to be so emotional,” he said.
You will be greatly missed!
