Former Press Club board member Ana Garcia, an investigative news reporter for KNBC-4, has won a covet- ed Emmy Award for best hard news reporting. Garcia was honored for her body of work throughout 2003, which included her award-winning investigation into sex trafficking in North San Diego County called “Fields of Shame.” Among the work included in the Emmy Award were Garcia’s investigations into the murdered women of Juarez, Mexico, and into the methods used when airlines change airfares. Both “Fields of Shame” and “Airfares,” also won regional Edward R. Murrow awards. Congratulations to Ana Garcia!
